THINK OUTSIDE THE [OUT]LINES
The most crucial and urgent problems facing society at present and in the future are large, wicked, faceted, and sometimes very difficult to define. They certainly don't fit neatly into the narrowing disciplinary silos of our increasingly hyper-specialized society. Capturing them accurately- not even to mention solving them-requires thinking that is fundamentally structured differently than that we have applied before.
This means translating between different thought languages, questioning everything (even the questions!), and approaching problem solving with open minds and without ego. And, perhaps most importantly, being ready to accept the results of the discovery process, whether or not we like them! While the specialists push new frontiers, the logicians will stitch the cutting edge knowledge together to map the terrain and plot paths forward that make the best use of everything that we collectively know.
Inside of our complex, messy, human systems, future building and problem solving are dynamic superpositions of science and art. Luckily, so is Logicians INQ.
